This is a project about nature and the concept of transformation. It also tries to analyze the subtle boundary between reality and transcendence, and to explore the expressive possibilities of the photographic medium.
Lake Tovel (South Tyrol) is famous for its history halfway between science and myth: until the summer of 1964, its waters used to take on a blood-red color. Through the re-elaboration of archival material and the production of staged photographs, the author has retraced the scientific and mythological theories that have concerned this bizarre natural phenomenon.
